"The Stroke Rehab programme is truly amazing."

"Unique and amazing rehab programme. I have recently returned from the two-week rehab programme  accompanied by my wife. This was a return visit having attended the programme in April 2023. I had a stroke in January 2021 which resulted in significant left side weakness and loss of motor function in both arm and leg. This two-week programme which Arjan and Linda run is truly unique and amazing. They are really wonderful people and a great team together. Most stroke patients will have spent hours in hospitals, clinics and seen more people in white coats or medical uniforms than they would ever wish. This programme is different. All the therapists are casually dressed and (subject to weather) around 75% of the sessions are held outside. At every session each patient has at least a 1 to 1 therapist and where 2 on 1 assistance is needed this is all seamlessly organised. On the surface everything appears low key but the therapy, the changeover timings between activities etc works like a well oiled machine.
The quality of the programme, the care and attention and the refinement to individual needs in my experience make this programme unique. Each participant returns home with a personalised rehab programme to put into practice will help to continue the improvements and progress made whilst on the programme. Highly recommended to anyone on a post stroke rehab journey - at whatever point you are on that journey."

"We were 8 stroke survivors, each with our own stories, mainly about how the system had struggled to meet our rehab needs. One lady had crowdfunded her trip from Australia, another man came from Singapore, and a lovely German lady managed all by herself, while the rest had a partner or friend with them. On Monday morning, the wonderful Kristal (who speaks 4 or possibly 5 languages!) collected us, and we arrived at the most amazing training center overlooking the sea, where we were met by Linda and Arjen. We all had various disabilities, mostly one side of the body being very weak (if functioning at all), and some of us had limited speech. However, we were all optimistic about making some progress or at least gaining the building blocks for our future recovery. We were not disappointed.
It was like a breath of fresh air. We were welcomed by enthusiastic, professional, and experienced clinicians who were all experts in their fields. Linda and Arjen led the team with regular morning meetings to discuss our individual needs and keep our rehab personalized as they learned more about us. They conducted various scientific tests at the beginning and end, which helped them plan our rehab and monitor our progress. The two weeks were exhausting but filled with joy, laughter, and optimism. I would thoroughly recommend it to those who are driven to improve. It is very hard work, so go prepared to give it your all—6 hours of rehab a day!"
